Y4K began life as a compilation series within its former parent Distinctive Records.
As one of the longest running and most respected breaks compilation series it has featured mixes from such illustrious names as Tayo, Uberzone, Evil Nine, Ils, Hybrid, DJ Icey, General Midi and Annie Nightingale amongst others.
Upon its 20th release, - and like all good teenagers - it was time to fly the nest. In 2007 Y4K left Distinctive Records to become a label in its own right. We bought all the stock and now all releases from the beginning are with us.
The new A&R team ushered in this new age with a change of sound. Keeping one foot in the breaks genres that it spawned from, Y4K now ventures into the cross-polinated worlds of Grime, Dubstep & Fidjet.

Y4K a commencé son existence comme une série de compilations appartenant à Distinctive Records.
C'est l'une des compilations breaks les plus anciennes et les plus respectées à travers le monde, ayant notamment fait participé des artistes connus comme Tayo, Uberzone, Evil Nine, Ils, hybride, DJ Icey, General Midi et Annie Nightingale, entre autres.
Lors de la sortie du 20ème Y4K, - et comme tous les bons adolescents - il était temps de s'envoler du nid. En 2007, Y4K quitte Distinctive Records pour devenir un label indépendant à part entière.
La nouvelle équipe A&R a inauguré cette nouvelle ère avec un changement de son. En gardant un pied dans le genre break où il a obtenu sa notoriété, Y4K s'aventure maintenant dans le monde du Grime, de la Dubstep & du Fidjet.
